Paris Blog Part 1

Paris….. One of my favorite cities in the world. For many, Paris is the trip of a lifetime and it can be a very expensive city without proper planning. First part of this blog is Paris on a budget.

Lets start with doing it on a budget…

Paris budget tips:

  1. Book with me to get the best value and the best deals. I have a list of the most affordable areas and hotels. Where you are close to the action but not staying in a rubbish hotel.
  2. Sightseeing. Visit attractions that are free. The first Sunday of every month has free museum entry. Purchase a Paris sightseeing pass from me before you go to save money.
  3. Use the Paris Pass. Paris is a big city. It can be challenging to plan an itinerary so let me do it for you before you go. I can book a hop on hop off buss or a river cruise. By allowing me to plan then you just have to turn up!
  4. Did you know some sights like the Louvre Museum require pre-booking. If I do your planning then you have nothing to do only show up.
  5. Don’t pay full price for tourist attractions when you can pre-book and save money.
  6. Avoid booking hotels outside the city center to avoid extra travel costs.
  7. ‘Une carafe d’eau s’il vous plait’ which means a jug of water please rather than pay for a bottle of water. It’s free.
  8. Wine is cheaper than coco cola.
  9. Look for happy hours as Paris loves this hour.
  10. Visit the Latin Quater for food in Paris. This area often has pre-fix meal plans which saves you a lot of money.
  11. Eric Kayer, L’As du Fallafel, Pitaya saveurs thai, Noodle Panda, La Droguerie, Ristorante Al Caratello and Paradis Marguerite are all excellant and affordable restaurants. See why you need me!
  12. Avoid restaurants close to tourist attractions.
  13. Lunch is cheaper than brunch or dinner.
  14. Do NOT pay for breakfast at your hotel. Get it in a cafe or on the run.
  15. Take the metro to avoid taxi’s. Taxi’s are so overpriced in Paris.
  16. A taxi from Charles De Gaulle is 55euro so book transfers through me to save money.
  17. Buy a Metro book rather than single tickets.
  18. Keep an eye out for pick picketers, string or bracelet scams, petition scams because Paris is full of scams.
  19. Learn basic French before you go and use google translate.
  20. Cheapest time to visit? December, January and February
